Orienteering Coaching
Fell and Hill Navigation Training
Ever wished that you were a better navigator? Would you like to be able to take to the fells and hills confident that you can find your own way down safely? Now is your chance to learn to navigate accurately and confidently in a series of six progressive orienteering coaching sessions in and around the Darwen area.
The sessions will each be one hour long, will cost you nothing and will take place on six successive Sunday afternoons during November and December. All you will need to bring is your normal running gear, waterproofs and a compass. The only requirement is that I need at least six Dashers to take part, though I can cater for more. The focus will be on navigation skills and is open to all, regardless of fitness or running ability.
Anybody interested please contact me either

Julian Donnelly.
As I have not been very active in the Dashers for the past couple of years, I should introduce myself to those who do not know me. I have been a Dasher for over 15 years and have competed in many fell races in England and Scotland. My most recent outing as a Dasher was on the navigation leg of the recent FRA relays. I have orienteered all over the UK and have taken part in the World Masters orienteering competition in Denmark and the Czech Republic. I attended the first UKCC Level 1 coaching course to be held and became a Level 1 Orienteering Coach in April 2009. I attended the first Level 2 course recently at Water Park in Cumbria and now need to do a series of practical coaching sessions in order to complete the qualification.

You could publicise this at Mercia, Bingley and Pudsey, but don't make the venue too hard to find.

Well done Julian!
The first 'classroom' based session was a really well planned event. I'm sure I'm not the only one who found it useful, interesting and fun.
If you told me that I'd be crawling around Julian's living room with a load of other Dashers, I wouldn't have believed you.

I've managed to attend all 6 sessions and really enjoyed them all. (and it's not just because I won the 4 bottles of beer!)
Thanks Julian for all the hard work that you've obviously put in to this. It's been appreciated by all.
