The Races are being put on by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in conjunction with Blackburn Harriers.
There are races which are only open to schools within the Borough and two other races which may be of interest to your athletes:
1) An Elite 5k with prize money for £300 - £150 - £75 for the first three Men and first three Women. There will be a BONUS of £200 for any Man who breaks 14:30 and £200 for any Woman who breaks 16:30. In subsequent years the Bonus will be paid for a Course Record.
2) An Open 5k Race for all runners attached and unattached, with an entry fee of £5 - prize money here will be £50 - £40 - £30 - £20 - £10 for the first 5 Men and first 5 Women with £60 ofr the first Mens Team and first Womens Team.
The Elite Race starts at 11:45am and the Open Race at 12:15pm.
All starts are at the front of the Town Hall in Blackburn and both Races will be run on a traffic free course with all relevant roads closed. There will be toilets and water provided at the Start/Finish and car parking will be available in the Town Centre Car Park which is literally several hundred yards from the start of the Race.
Hopefully some of your members will be keen to enter.

Would anyboby like to join me for a last run before Windermere?
I am planning on going either Friday 2nd or Saturday 3rd May.
Setting off from Asda running 12 miles down the Canal then turning back.

All members are welcome
Please come along and support your club at this year’s AGM.
There are two places on the committee which are available, if you would like to stand for one of these positions, please speak to any committee member as soon as possible.

(2) Club Treasurer
The AGM normally runs for approximately 45 minutes following which sandwiches will be served.
The AGM is an important event in the club’s year and we hope to see as many members as possible on the 17th April up at The Sunnyhurst.

| Tour of Horwich and Rivington |

Me 'n the missus have been thinking about having a go at the Tour of Horwich 5 day stage race this year. Just wondered if anyone else fancies it? It's summat a bit different and would be quite an achievement to complete it. If you don't know what it is, here's some details:
Countryside Tour of Horwich and Rivington

17th June Tue 7:30pm - Science In Sport Lever Park Run (approx 10k)
18th June Wed 7:30pm - Sweatshop / Mizuno Jubilee Road Race (5 miles)
6:45pm - U17 Fun Run
19th June Thu 7:30pm - Walsh Two Lads Fell Race (5.25 miles)
20th June Fri 7:30pm - Joseph Holt Brewery Cross Country (approx 4.2 miles)
6:45pm - Junior XC Fun Run
22nd June Sun 12:50pm - Nouvellesoft Horwich Carnival 5K (5K)
2:15pm - Horwich Carnival Races Fun Run
