Welcome To Darwen Dashers Website

This sites purpose is to provide somewhere for local runners to arrange training runs, organise events & share pictures, but most of all to have some fun! If you need any help using the website please read the FAQ If you'd like to join Darwen Dashers Running Club just fill out the membership application form, enter your details & send to the address on the form. You can suggest changes to the website via admin e-mail Please respect the rights of other users by not posting abusive material.

We meet at 7pm on Tuesday & Thursday, The Sunnyhurst Pub, Tockholes Rd, Darwen, Lancashire, BB3 1JX.

* The Real Ale Wobble*

	Real Ale Wobble 2009 This years R.A.W. will take place on Friday June 26th KO as usual from the Sunnyhurst at 6.30pm prompt. For those of you not yet fortunate enough to have taken part in this magnificent event then here's a brief description - we meet at the Sunnyhurst and then ride to another local pub for a pint (preferably of Real Ale but you don't have to) then we ride to another local pub for a pint. Then we ride to another local pub etc etc - you get the idea. The night finishes at the Black Horse on Redearth Rd where we will have some well earned chip butties. It'll be a nice easy paced ride with the emphasis on the social side. Please PM me or see me at the club for more details. You will need: a mountain bike, a helmet, some beer money and a sense of humour. You might need: lights, a lock, waterproofs, a good excuse as to why you've got in at 2 o'clock in the morning stinking of ale when you only went out for a bike ride! TEN DAYS TO GO! (Read more)

Brand New Treasure Hunt

	Brand New Treasure Hunt Distance: 3.5 mile route from The Sunnyhurst Pub When: Thursday 11th June 2009 Time: Registration from 6.00pm, to set off from 6.15 – 6.45pm The earlier you get there, the earlier you can get your set of clues and set off. To be run in PAIRS. Entry £3.00 per runner You must run with a partner whose name will be pulled out of a hat. The first pair back with all the correct clues wins. Various other prizes. Having not organised a 'running' treasure hunt before we are unsure how it will go. We need everyone to have a go to make it work, it will be run in pairs with names being pulled out of a hat or if this doesn't work we will place a faster runner with a slower runner. The earlier you get there the earlier you can set off & not have other runners looking over your shoulder at the same clues. There will be sandwiches in the bar when everyone has finished . This event needs your support in order for us to do another next year. (Read more)

Full Moon Spring Stroll

	Friday 8th May KO 7.30 pm Latest in the Full moon walk series. Meet at the Sunnyhurst pub at 7.30pm. The plan is to walk through the woods along the top path to the dam and then up Donkey Brew and across the fields to the Royal at Tockholes for more ‘refreshment’ and chip butties. The route may be subject to change dependant on the weather. If you would like to accompany us then please bring a torch or headtorch (and spare batteries if necessary) and appropriate clothing just in case it doesn’t turn out to be the clear, mild spring evening that I am hoping for! If possible please let me know if you are coming beforehand.
